This summer, Sippican Lands Trust brings back its Summer Yoga Series to Brainard Marsh. A hearty group of yogis will embrace sand, sun, wind and water on three successive Saturdays in late July and early August to practice yoga. Led by local yoga instructors, Marcia Hathaway and Deb Fraine from Anchor Yoga & Meditation Center, yoga participants will practice yoga poses, balancing positions and core strength routines on an uneven sandy surface- a beach. These are tall tasks for any individual but made easier on the beach at Brainard Marsh with its sweeping views of the Weweantic River and Buzzards Bay. A local osprey chirping in the background always provides the right amount of ambient sound while practicing your yoga poses like Warrior One.
Brainard Marsh is a special place to practice yoga and a wonderful place to visit in Marion. The Sippican Lands Trust is grateful for the foresight and generosity of the Brainard Family for protecting this land for visitors including yoga devotees. I think about places like Brainard Marsh and other SLT properties around Marion that have been protected by acts of foresight and generosity over the 40+ years. These places provide recreation and respite for any visitor and I encourage you to visit SLT’s properties around town.
Breathing fresh air and being outdoors are both gratifying and relaxing and good for the soul! I encourage you to join us for some yoga this summer at Brainard Marsh and bring a friend too.
